What a fun and fact filled day we had at Ordsall Hall in Salford. We started the day by going back in time to the Tudors. We found out lots of interesting facts like, when eating at a banquet the Lords and ladies sat at the head of the table, the merchants sat in the middle and the farmers sat at the end. The lady of the house showed us around the Lord and Lady's chambers. The Lord's chamber wasn't just a bedroom it was also used for holding meetings, sharpening swords and making big decisions that could possibly change their lives. A Lady used her chambers to have her lady friends round to sew and to teach children to read. The maid showed us around her kitchen, herb garden and living area, her day would start as the sun rose and end once the lady had gone to bed.
