Having learnt a little about Picasso's life we spent time this afternoon drawing and colouring different pictures originally created by Picasso. We had a 'gallery walk' to look at each other's work and wrote comments. Can you spot your work in this gallery?

Spelling Interviews

This morning we played a spelling game to practise our spellings.
First we wrote one of our spelling words on our whiteboard and looked at it out of the corner of our eye, taking a ' mental picture'. Mrs Wheelwright thought we looked like we were taking 'selfies' with our whiteboards.
Next we swapped words and our partner quizzed us about the word- we had to remember or use our mental image to say how many letters the word had, what letters were in different places and ultimately spell the word correctly!

This afternoon our reading partners from class 1 visited us. They each brought a book with them. We spent a lot of time looking at the illustrations and talking about what we could see in the book. Then we read the story.

In Literacy we have been looking at adverts and learning how they use language to persuade us to buy things.
We all designed our own chocolate bar then created an advert to persuade people to buy it.

Our topic this half term is European Geography. This week we have been looking at atlases to identify the different countries in Europe. We also looked at the continents of the world.

Have you decided which country you are going to do your project about? There are so many to choose from!
