Yesterday Class 12 enjoyed a fantastic and fascinating visit to Drax power station. First the processes involved in making electricity were explained and we had chance to look at different models of the whole Drax site as well as the single units. We had to put on PPE- personal protective equipment- before we could go round the site. We got up close to the cooling towers.

I remember when Elland had a power station you could see it from the bottom playground!
