Wedding Preparations

The New Mrs Thaxter to be

We had a fabulous time this morning celebrating the forth coming wedding of Miss Renfrew.
We designed a wedding dress and a suit, using black sacks and toilet rolls (let's hope Mr Reynolds doesn't get too cross about us using school supplies)
Then we had a wedding breakfast followed by the cutting of the cake.
WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO WISH MISS RENFREW AND MARK ALL THE BEST FOR THEIR WEDDING THIS WEEKEND.

Inter house Football and Netball

Today the Lower Juniors played their inter house football and netball matches.
The standard of play was outstanding with many children being recognised for their ability.
We can't reveal the final scores as yet as they need to be combined with the upper junior scores but I'm sure your children will keep you informed.

Our first DT project really got our taste buds tingling!
We were challenged to design our own sandwich .
First we deconstructed a selection of sandwiches and looked carefully at the type of bread, filling and sauces used.
Then we came up with ideas for our own fillings. In small groups we constructed our own sandwiches and then came the most important part... The taste test.

During our first week in year 3 we got straight into a science investigation.
Poor Mrs Hiley had been having trouble mopping up some water and needed help to find the most absorbent material to make a new mop.
We did lots of experimenting with different materials before making the final mops.

We were extremely impressed with the wonderful work class 7 produced as part of their homework project.
There were models, information booklets, drawings and collage.
Here are some photos of our work.
