Getting to school at the right time
The school doors open to children at 8:45am and the morning session starts as soon as the children enter their classrooms. The school site is open from 8:30am but ideally you and your child should arrive at school at 8.40 a.m. Please be aware that the school’s duty of care starts at 8:45 am and prior to that time, children are the responsibility of parents/carers.
External doors are locked promptly at 8.50 a.m. to ensure children’s safety and for security reasons. If you and your child arrive after this time please report to the school office where you will be required to record the reason that your child is late.
School finishes at 3.15 p.m. The school site will be open to parents/carers from 3:00pm daily.
Absence from school
Our Attendance Policy states that the school needs to be informed by telephone (01422 375316) or parents/carers email if a child is going to be absent from school. This helps the school and you to guard against truancy and ensure your child is safe.
We expect to be notified on the first day of a child’s absence. If we do not receive a message (telephone, verbal or email) by 9.00 a.m., we will send a text message to the first contact number you have supplied us with on your child’s admission form. If no contact is received by 9:45am a telephone call will be made. If we still do not have a reason for the absence we will take further action including contacting the Education Welfare Team. The absence will be classed as unauthorised.
