Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
All children at Old Earth get the support they need to learn, play and have fun together. For some children with special educational needs or disabilities, this might mean some extra help or resources are needed.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCo) is Miss Emma Townley (from September 2025) having taken over the role from Mrs Freeman who held the role since 2003. Whilst Miss Townley leads this it is a team effort, with our teachers, teaching assistants, parents/carers and specialist services all playing a role.
If you would like any more information, or would prefer to have a chat, contact school and ask to speak to our SENCO.
““I have had the pleasure of working in education for several years, and I am excited to support children and families in my new role as SENCO. I am deeply committed to ensuring that all pupils are recognised, supported, and provided with opportunities to reach their full potential.
Collaborating closely with teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and external agencies, I strive to meet every child’s unique needs.
I recognise that navigating special educational needs can sometimes feel daunting, and I am always here to listen, offer guidance, and partner with families to help every child flourish at Old Earth.””
